For Father’s Day this Sunday, St. Mark’s is having a special theme in our 10am service, spending some time thanking our fathers for what they do for us. It’s easy to fit this theme into our services because so much of the Bible is about the relationship between God the Father and us as his children. A key verse for us this Sunday is James 1:17:

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Even the best father that we know has his bad days, but God the Father doesn’t change.  And since everything we have comes from him, the best response to God is thankfulness – like we are thankful to our own fathers this Sunday.

We hope that you can join us, and bring Dad along, to share this time. We are going to have a sausage sizzle after the service, hopefully in the Spring sun!
