St Mark’s is first and always a Christian Church. We believe that the almighty God entered the world in the person of Jesus Christ and then died on the cross to pay for the sins of every person. Our reason for being is to help the people of Emerald and beyond to become fully committed followers of this Jesus.
We want to make Jesus accessible to as many people as we can. We do that through an extensive range of age-targeted, culturally-relevant outreach programs for children and teenagers – and a motor bike club for adults. We also deliberately make our services and events welcoming and non-threatening to people who don’t yet know Jesus. We have special worship services for teenagers and young adults, families and those who prefer the classic Anglican service.
We want to be a vital part of the local community. Accordingly we support and publish the Signpost community magazine (that goes to every home in Emerald and the surrounding towns), run – with the Emerald CFA – the Emerald Op Shop and have strong partnerships with Emerald Primary School and Emerald Secondary College. We are also the hub for recovery after bushfires.
Overall St Mark’s is a vibrant, modern, Christ-focused church. Why not check us out?
